Mon Realm TRA turn up in style for the Celebration Event
A fantastic night to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of KFTRA (Kirklees Federation of Tenants and Residents Associations) was held on Friday November 16th 2012 at Dewsbury Town Hall. The celebration event was opened by the Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr David Ridgeway. Followed by the presenting of Awards in four categories for outstanding achievements by volunteers to involve Young People (Kevin Jordan Award), involving communities (Excel Award) outstanding personal involvement (Cliff Whiteley Award) and the KFTRA Award for Tenants and Residents Association excellence . The winners were chosen from stiff competition from over 100 entries and this was followed by long service awards being presented for 5 & 10 years of involvement and hard work with KFTRA and the Tenants movement in Kirklees. David Detraux KNH Housing Officer was the excellent Compere for the event and ensured the smooth running of the evening. After an interval for the meal the evening was rounded off by entertainment from a band and dancing till late. The event was attended by over 200 invited guests of the Kirklees Federation of Tenants and Residents Associations the flagship organisation for the Tenants Movement in Kirklees.
